Effective August 25, 2026. These terms govern your use of the LockLines website and Mac app.

Agreement

By using the LockLines website or Mac app, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the website or app. In these terms, "LockLines," "we," "us," and "the developer" refer to Ihor July.

App Store License and Purchases

LockLines is made available through the Mac App Store. The app is licensed, not sold, under the Apple Standard End User License Agreement unless a different license is presented when you acquire the app. The Apple license controls your use of the app and is not replaced or modified by these website terms.

Apple handles App Store transactions, billing, taxes, delivery, and refund requests under the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions and applicable law. The developer does not directly process App Store payments.

Purpose of LockLines

LockLines helps you create and preview plain-text messages for the macOS lock screen. It prepares text for you to copy into System Settings. It does not modify macOS, system files, security settings, your wallpaper, or the lock screen interface.

Your Content and Responsibilities

You retain any rights you have in the text you enter. You are responsible for that text and for ensuring that your use of it is lawful and does not infringe the rights of another person.

A lock screen message may be visible to anyone with physical access to your Mac. Do not include passwords, access credentials, financial information, or other sensitive information. LockLines is not a security, device tracking, or data recovery service.

macOS Behavior and Compatibility

Apple controls the lock screen's appearance, message capacity, scrolling, accessibility, and other behavior. These behaviors may vary with macOS versions, devices, displays, settings, and future Apple updates. LockLines cannot change those behaviors or guarantee that every preview will exactly match every Mac configuration.

Privacy

The LockLines app processes message text locally on your Mac and works offline. Information about website analytics and app data practices is available in the LockLines Privacy Policy.

Acceptable Use

You may not use LockLines or this website for unlawful activity, harassment, infringement, malware distribution, or attempts to disrupt, damage, or gain unauthorized access to the app, website, or related infrastructure.

Intellectual Property

LockLines, the website, branding, design, and software are owned by the developer or applicable licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. These terms do not transfer ownership of those materials to you. Your license to use the app is governed by the Apple Standard End User License Agreement described above.

Availability and Updates

The app and website may be updated, changed, suspended, or discontinued. Features and compatibility may change to improve functionality, address security issues, or remain compatible with macOS and the Mac App Store.

Disclaimer

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the website and app are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties that they will be uninterrupted, error-free, or compatible with every macOS version or Mac. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits warranties or consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded or limited.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the developer will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive losses arising from your use of or inability to use LockLines or this website. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.

Changes to These Terms

These terms may be updated when LockLines, the website, or applicable requirements change. The effective date at the top of this page will be updated when changes are published. Your continued use after a change means you accept the revised terms where permitted by law.

General

If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of the right to enforce it later.
